New Technologies Facilitate Protection of Assets
Whether it’s your employees, customers, facilities, corporate property or goods for sale, protecting our assets has become a daily challenge. Ed Uehlinger of 3SI outlined several new technologies for asset protection and capture of criminals.
The solutions utilize devices powered when set in motion that contain location-based GPS, Cellular and RF communications technology. The trackers are tied to a secured online website for precise pinpointing of location.
Trackers can be embedded in various forms such as cash, jewelry, pharmaceutical containers, smart phones, and shipping containers. Examples were provided at the March ASIS Rochester meeting.
Banks have used dye products for many years to thwart robberies – the new technologies augment this in some cases, but also open up a number of new uses that can benefit security efforts.
