Join the ASIS Greater Rochester Chapter for a special program hosted by Rochester Regional Health at Rochester General Hospital.

Michael Rhodes, Chief of Public Safety for Rochester Regional Health, will welcome our members and guests for a discussion on the strategies, tactics, best practices, and evolving challenges involved in protecting people within today’s healthcare environment.

Healthcare security presents a unique and increasingly complex mission. Rochester Regional Health is one of the region’s largest employers and healthcare providers, with nine hospitals, more than 550 healthcare practice locations, approximately 19,400 employees, and a service area reaching more than 1.6 million people across Western, Central, and Northern New York. Protecting a system of this scale requires balancing an open and welcoming environment for patients and families with the need to safeguard employees, facilities, and clinical operations.

Michael and members of his team will share their experiences managing these challenges, including a discussion of weapons detection technology and its real-time deployment and use within the healthcare environment.

While our focus will be healthcare security, ASIS members and guests from every industry are encouraged to attend. Many of the challenges facing healthcare—workplace violence, access control, weapons detection, emergency response, and creating safe yet accessible environments—have applications across nearly every security program.
